Thank you for participating in the 2017 AFP San Diego National Philanthropy Day award nominations!

The AFP San Diego Chapter annually recognizes individuals and organizations whose philanthropic achievements have made an impact in the San Diego region, Imperial County, and Tijuana.  While we are looking forward to building on the success of our predecessors, we are expanding our vision of inclusion and celebrating and honoring the rich diversity of our region. 

Let's honor those who embrace philanthropy.  Nominate someone that you feel deserves to be acknowledged for their efforts. 

Nominations will close on June 16, 2017.

    This award recognizes individuals, couples or families with a proven record of exceptional generosity that demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages and influences others to embrace philanthropy in a meaningful way. The nominee’s gifts of treasure create transformational impact on the nonprofits(s) and/or community.

    1. Describe your nominee’s significant or outstanding act of philanthropic giving.

    2. Describe, by example, how your nominee’s generous financial support has had a transformative impact on the organization and those it serves.

    3. Describe how your nominee has demonstrated civic and charitable leadership by influencing and engaging others to support the organization.

    4. Please answer if applicable: Briefly state the mission of the organization that benefits from the nominee’s involvement. Please describe the overall impact of the organization(s) in the community. Does this organization serve an underrepresented or underserved community? If so, how and what specific demographics are served? ** Definition of underserved or underrepresented: community members whose cultural origin, demographic, geographic, and/or economic situation has traditionally been perceived as a barriers to opportunity and/or civic participation - such as low-income persons, people of color, women, immigrants/refugees, elderly, and LGBT.

    5. Please answer if applicable: Briefly describe the business or organization donating philanthropic services. Please describe the overall impact of the business or organization in the community. Does this business or organization serve an underrepresented or underserved community?
